About the Course

The strength of finance is that it takes a very structured approach to decision-making, with two key building blocks underlying all decisions. In this course we will develop the first building block: the foundational framework of time value of money (TVM). The main focus in this building block will be on individual/personal decisions because (a) we learn when we see value to us as individuals, and (b) the beauty of finance is that the building blocks of finance are applicable to any decision, personal or corporate.

This course is the first in a sequence of four courses, followed by a Capstone Project, that comprise a Specialization on Valuation & Investing.

About the Course
The strength of finance is that it takes a very structured approach to decision-making, with two key building blocks underlying all decisions: time value of money, and risk and return. This course will integrate the two building blocks (developed in the first two courses offered as part of a Specialization) and we will “put it all together.” We will also enrich our approach to valuation with important features of the real world to expose the learner to advanced methods of Valuation.

This course is the third in a sequence of four courses, followed by a Capstone Project, that comprise a Specialization on Valuation & Investing.
COURSE 4
Valuing Projects and Companies

About the Course
The strength of finance is that it takes a very structured approach to decision-making. This course uses a framework based on the two building blocks of finance (time value of money and risk and return), enriched by real world regulations and tax codes, to enable the learner to value both projects and companies. This course is very applied in nature with most of the content crafted to address real world issues confronted in companies and our personal lives.

This course is the fourth and last in a sequence of four courses that comprise a Specialization on Valuation & Investing. It will prepare you for the capstone project if you qualify by obtaining Course Certificates in all four courses.
CAPSTONE PROJECT
Valuation Capstone

About the Capstone Project
This Capstone Project is designed with the specific purpose of showcasing both the science and the art of financial analysis. It is the natural end to a Specialization that is designed to start with the building blocks of finance, followed by a modification of the framework to incorporate the complexity of regulations and the tax code and ending with a capstone-like experience in the last course with rich applications to complex projects and companies. The Capstone Project is therefore a natural end to the Specialization and will involve a detailed valuation analysis of a project or a company.
